Work at sea is safe, advanced and professional. Pay and
conditions are attractive. Please come and join us to take the
challenge and become a future ship’s captain or
chief engineer.
Hong Kong has been well known as one of the major shipping and
logistics ports in Far East. The handling rate of Containers in
terms of TEU, which includes import, export and transshipment
cargoes, has been amongst the best in the world for many years. It
has contributed to some 20% of the Hong Kong’s
GDP.
Hong Kong government is determined to develop Hong Kong into a
leading logistics and transshipment centre in the Pearl River
Delta. The maritime industry has a wide range of career, on land
as well as at sea. These are well paid, interesting and
challenging jobs. From electronics to engineering, navigation,
law, accounting, naval architecture, insurance and logistics. The
opportunities are numerous!
Most of the above opportunities require qualification and
experience at sea. Shipboard experiences are crucial, especially
in job opportunities such as Marine Officers in Marine Department,
Marine Surveyors, Harbour Pilots, Superintendent in shipping
companies. However, there were only a handful of youth people
working at sea in the past ten years, which make it less and less
people in Hong Kong who will be able to fill up the jobs as arise
from time to time.
